A Fertility Goddess is born
I never set out to work in the fertility field.
The Amazon Fertility Program really came about by "accident" (though I don't believe in accidents".
When I opened my clinic "Natural Stress Therapy" in Collins Street in 1990 my aim was really to educate Australians about the benefits of natural therapies. I had become disenchanted with the hospital system and modern medicine in general.
I knew there were benefits to modern medicine but I also knew there was so much more.
Back in those days Australians were quite backwards in their understanding and appreciation of natural therapies. I had grown up with herbal remedies and therapeutic bodywork. It was a normal part of life for me but mention the words "massage" in Australia in the early 1990s and most people thought about massage parlors.
The internet was non-existent in those days (as far as the general public was concerned at least) and I used to advertise in the Herald-Sun. Having to answer enquiries from seedy customers was a daily occurrence.
If it hadn't been for my vision to share the benefits of natural therapies with the wider community I would have closed shop in my first year.
Yes, starting a new business is always hard work but it is even harder when you have to educate people about something they don't understand.
In time I gained a reputation for achieving amazing results for my clients across a wide range of health issues.
Referrals became an important source of new clients for me. There is nothing like "word-of-mouth" referrals, as anyone in business will tell you.
My clientele started to improve and I started to attract more and more professionals working in the Melbourne CBD.
Part of my new clientele were stressed out middle aged professional women. They were usually tired, run down and chronically stressed. Along with therapeutic body work I would give them herbal formulas to strengthen and rebalance their overall health.
Before too long several of my clients that were already in menopause started to get their periods again and some of them even fell pregnant.
I had not worked on fertility but simply on restoring their overall health.
My clients were overjoyed. They had long given up on their dreams of motherhood. I soon became known as "the Miracle worker".
The Amazon Fertility Program had been born though I did not realize it until several years later when it really took off due to the media publicity my successes attracted.
Over the years I have refined the Amazon Fertility Program to improve its effectiveness but the overall premise is still the same - "A Healthy Tree Always Flowers and Fruits, regardless of age".
To me, fertility is a natural function of a healthy body, so my primary focus is to restore overall health.
Infertility is not a problem in and of itself. To me it is merely a symptom of a more fundamental imbalance or weakness in the body of one or both prospective parents.
In Love and Gratitude,
Antonia Ruhl
